EnrichHER

The EnrichHER group is open to women of all ages, in all stages of life, regardless of church affiliation or spiritual background. Our goal is to provide a warm and welcoming environment where women can enrich their lives through the study of scripture and by sharing in meaningful discussion. If you seek to develop or strengthen an intimate relationship with Christ and form friendships with other women, then the EnrichHER group is for you!

All of our studies are video-based with additional reading and workbook assignments as an option. Studies typically range from 6 to 8 sessions, with each session’s video segment running between 15 – 25 minutes long followed by group discussion. Childcare is provided free of charge for EnrichHER study meetings held at Messiah United Methodist Church. A schedule of upcoming meeting dates and times is listed below.

Not sure you have enough time to invest? A little bit of time spent in God’s Word is better than none and this group was created with a modern woman’s busy lifestyle, a packed schedule, and numerous commitments in mind. You can choose your level of commitment and participation based on your availability during this season of your life. Several opportunities are provided throughout the year to join together, face-to-face, in fellowship with EnrichHER members on a regular basis. If you are not able to attend these meetings in person, a private EnrichHER Facebook group allows you the flexibility to participate remotely by watching the study videos and contributing to online discussion – in your own time, as your schedule allows.

We Saved You A Seat: Finding and Keeping Lasting Friendships by Lisa-Jo Baker

Original Study Date: September 12 – November 14, 2018

In today’s busy world, we’re wired to appear “fine,” warding off authenticity and shielding ourselves from judgment. We hide behind the hum of busyness to escape intimate friendships with the women God has placed in our lives. But we do want a seat at the table. We yearn for authentic relationships and the opportunity to be the opposite of “fine” with people who cheer for us. But comparison, envy, and entitlement often stop us from pulling out a chair at the table. Friendship can be hard, making new friends even harder, and maintaining genuine friendship the hardest of all. In this study, we’ll explore our relationship with Jesus as the ultimate model for authentic friendship. Nothing shapes us like the impact of a friend – it’s how Jesus radically and intimately connects with us. So instead of chasing perfection, overcome your fear of being known and find the courage to connect.

The Prayer Course: Original Study Date July 11 – August 15, 2018

During this six-week interdenominational study, we’ll discuss prayer-related topics such as the power of prayer, praying for others, discerning God’s voice, unanswered prayers, and how we can deepen prayer life at Messiah. There is no workbook – sessions will include watching a short video followed by discussion. Videos are posted on the EnrichHER Facebook group page.

Numbers: Learning Contentment in a Culture of More by Melissa Spoelstra
Original Study Date: April 4 – May 23, 2018

Also available online

Workbook optional – contact the church office for a copy

Bigger. Better. Faster. More. Often we find ourselves wishing for these things. God led the Israelites out of slavery, but it wasn’t long before they grew discontent. Like the Israelites, we often overlook God’s blessings, falling into the trap of comparing ourselves to others or dreaming of how much happier we would be if only we had more. In this 6-week study, we’ll learn how to find contentment in our culture of “more”.
