Rehearsal Schedule

Adult Choir

  • Chancel Choir – Thursdays from 7:30 – 9:00 pm, September-May
  • Women’s Chorus – Meets 1 – 2 times per Month on Mondays from 7 – 8:30 pm, September-May No musical experience necessary. Childcare provided upon request.
  • Men’s Chorus – Meets 1 – 2 times per Month on Mondays from 7 – 8:30 pm, September-May No musical experience necessary. Childcare provided upon request.
  • Adult Choir – Thursdays from 7:30 – 9 pm in the Sanctuary, The Adult Choir sings at the 9:30 and 11:00 am worship services on Sundays. No musical experience is necessary. Childcare provided upon request.
  • Joyful Noise – Sundays from 7:45 – 8:15 am, September – June, This pickup choir rehearses and then sings an anthem each Sunday at the 8:15 am worship service. This is a great way to participate in choir if you cannot commit to a rehearsal during the week.

Children’s Choir

  • Cherub Choir (ages 3-Kindergarten) – Sundays from 9:40 – 10 am, September-May. This choir is for fun and is incorporated into Sunday School. The children play games, sing songs, and enjoy the gift of music that God has given.
  • Carol Choir (Grades 1-2) – Sundays from 10:10 – 10:30 am, September-May, Singers enjoy learning to sing by playing pitch and rhythm games and singing age-appropriate songs. Occurs during the Sunday School hour.
  • Good News Orff Choir (Grades 3-6) – Sundays from 11:15 -am 12:15 pm, September-May, Children play Orff instruments and sing in a multi-sensory music experience.
  • Children Handbells at Messiah United Methodist Church

Adult Handbells

  • Jubilation Ringers – Wednesdays from 7 – 8:30 pm in the Sanctuary, September-May, this group is intermediate/advanced adult ringers.
  • Alleluia Ringers (Grades 7-12) – Sundays from 4 – 5 pm, September-May, Rachel Elliff leads this group of intermediate/advanced youth ringers. Music reading skills are required

Children Handbells

  • Heavy Metal Ringers (Grades 4-6) Wednesdays from 5:15 – 6 pm, September-May, Rachel Elliff leads our most experienced children’s handbell group. Music reading skills are required.
  • Children’s Handchime Choir (Grades 1-3) – Wednesdays from 5:30 – 6 pm in room 203, September-May, Our beginning children’s handchime group. Children will learn initial ringing skills.

Other Music Opportunities

  • Messiah Orchestra – Saturdays twice a month from 9 – 10:30 am, our orchestra that plays hymns, solo orchestral works, and accompanies choir anthems in Sunday services monthly. Adults and youth in grades 9 – 12 are invited to participate.
  • Liturgical Dance – Sundays from 3 – 4 pm, September through May, Pia Diggs leads this dance group for ages 4th grade through adults. Contact Pia for more information.
  • Youth Praise Band (Grades 7-12) – Sundays from 8 – 9: 30 am, Our Praise Band is led by Tommy Suh and plays in Youth Worship every 4th Sunday at 9:30 am in the Youth Center.
