Serve Our Church

The Messiah leadership team depends on many members of the congregation to help ensure smooth sailing every Sunday. You can help by taking advantage of ongoing opportunities such as those listed below.

Communion Servers

Click here for the 2018 Communion Server schedule. Once you have signed up for dates matching your availability, a confirmation email will be sent with your individual schedule. A reminder email will also be sent closer to the date for which you have signed up to serve.

Sunday School Teachers

Messiah adults- we are always looking for new Sunday School teachers, from Kindergarten up through High School. Our Messiah kids need you! Please contact Robin Ringler for more information.

Sunday Lunch Providers

Every Sunday, 16 to 20 kids from Springfield Garden Apartments come to Messiah. Almost all are on the free/reduced lunch program at school and do not always get a healthy meal on weekends. Help us in providing a healthy meal for them to take home after church on Sundays. Please bring foods such as pasta, casseroles, and sandwiches to feed those children. Please bring it to the church kitchen labeled “Sunday Kids Lunches” ready for us to bag and or portion out no later than 10:30 am. Click here to sign up for a Sunday. Contact: Michele DeMocker

Welcome Center Attendants and Greeters

Please consider signing up as greeters before and after Messiah services. And we are always looking for folks to staff the Welcome Center. Never done this before? Your smile and welcoming spirit qualify you. On the job training is available! If you’d like to sign up, Contact: Lauren Geraghty

Greenspring Transportation Ministry Drivers

This ministry transports residents in a Messiah bus to and from the Greenspring retirement community for the 11 am worship service. A commercial driver’s license is not required. The trip to Greenspring to pick up is from 10 to 10:30 am, and the return trip is approximately noon – 12:30 pm. The shifts may be split with one driver doing pickup and the other doing drop off. Even just one or two Sundays here and there can be a big help! Contact: Randy Smith
