At Messiah United Methodist Church, we warmly welcome everyone who wishes to express their Christian faith. We are an inclusive community that encourages each person to be true to their self-understanding, shaped by their faith in Jesus Christ.
Our congregation is a vibrant and diverse group, dedicated to following Jesus and embracing the challenges of Christian faith. We are committed to nurturing children, youth, and the wider community through our faith and actions.
Our mission is to develop loving relationships with God and others, following Christ’s example.
Our vision is to establish Messiah as a leading church community of Christian hope and healing.
Each week we need 2 volunteers to serve dinner in the kitchen beginning at 6pm.
Food is catered, you just get to be the friendly face serving it to our volunteers!
We also need some volunteers to help clean up the kitchen and tidy any remaining trash in the Fellowship Hall after dinner.
We're excited to introduce Messiah's second intergenerational Lenten weaving project featuring a completely different weaving technique and another one-of-a-kind experience for all ages!
Even if you participated last year, there's something new for you in this year's project and we hope that everyone will consider being part of this year's churchwide art project.
It truly takes the whole church to make this project come to life. Sign up here or contact Meredith to schedule a weaving party with your small group.
Beatitudes for Lent
Join us on Zoom, Monday evenings at 7pm.
The study is focused on the Beatitudes, found in the Gospel of Matthew, and will follow lessons from the Spring 2025 edition of the Adult Bible Study series published by Cokesbury.
It will only be offered online by ZOOM from 7pm to about 8pm. Printed versions of the lessons are available. The format for the class will be a review of the lesson and facilitated discussion. You do not have to attend every session to benefit from the study.
"The eight lessons in this unit provide an opportunity to achieve a richer and deeper understanding of how to live out the Beatitudes. This understanding is especially significant and appropriate during the season of Lent, a time of personal reflection and repentance but also a time that encourages sacrifice and service. By coupling a Beatitude with a snapshot from Jesus' ministry and teachings, we discover how better to bring hope, healing, and justice to our world and work to eliminate things that oppress and limit human flourishing."
For more information and to register for the class, contact Paul Bouley at pauljbouley@gmail.com
Join us Wednesdays at 5:30 for our weekly service project, followed by a delicious fellowship dinner.
