Hypothermia Prevention Shelter
Volunteer for Hypothermia PreventionMarch 22-28
Messiah UMC is proud to join more than 40 other churches in the FACETS Hypothermia Project. We will work to provide warmth, safety, food, and dignity to individuals experiencing homelessness in Fairfax County.
Our week is from March 22 -28.
In 2006, after 2 unhoused men tragically lost their lives to hypothermia, FACETS and Fairfax County made a promise that no one in our community should ever have to face the deadly cold alone.
This life-saving program offers more than simply shelter. Each night, we provide meals, warm beds, and compassionate care – all made possible by dedicated volunteers and generous donors.
Together, we can prevent the tragedy of exposure-related deaths and work toward a future where all of our neighbors are cared for.
If you have any questions please contact Bob Austin, 703-244-5415 or bob.austin@verizon.net
